Obtain a Passport from Any Location in India: Simplified Application Process!

If you find yourself in a new city far from your hometown, the process of applying for an Indian passport may present significant challenges. However, this situation is likely to improve, as the External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, has introduced a new initiative that allows individuals to apply for a passport from any location within the country.

For instance, if you are originally from Chennai but currently living in Bangalore, you can submit your passport application at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or the Passport Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) affiliated with the Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Bangalore. There is no longer a need to return to Chennai, as was previously required. You simply need to provide your current address, which does not have to be your permanent residence.

Upon submitting your passport application, police verification will be conducted at the address you provided. It is essential to ensure that the address is accurate. While physical police verification may soon become obsolete, it is still currently in practice.

In conjunction with this initiative, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj introduced the ‘mPassport Seva App,’ which allows users to apply, make payments, and schedule passport appointments directly from their mobile devices, eliminating the need to access a computer. This highly convenient app reportedly garnered 1 million downloads within just two days.

If you have hesitated to apply for an Indian passport due to concerns about your address, now is the ideal time to utilize the Passport Seva app.

The quicker you obtain your passport, the sooner you can embark on your journey to a new country. Rest assured, Pickyourtrail will handle all the travel arrangements for you, so be sure to explore the best options available.
