- SACRED VALLEY
A warm welcome to the colonial city of Quito! Upon arrival your private transfer will take you to your hotel.
Your sightseeing tour will pass through the historic old town of Quito, that has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, because of its abundant wealth of Spanish, Flemish and Moorish architecture. Explore the Congress building with its intricate stonework façade, the San Agustin monastery, the San Francisco churchand Independence Square surrounded by the Government Palace and Cathedral.
Afterwards, head up to the Panecillo Hill and marvel at the towering statue of the Winged Virgin. The panoramic views of Quito and the surrounding mountains make for some great photo opportunities. You will finish your tour with a visit to the Equatorial monument, where you will have aspecial opportunity to straddle both hemispheres.
In the evening you will be treatedto a delicious dinner at one of the most stylish restaurants in the country Theatrum & Wine Bar’. Located on second floor of the National Theatre the restaurant’s terrace reveals enchanting views of the square
(Known as the Butcher’s square in the 19th century). The menu includes mouth-watering Mediterranean-Ecuadorian dishes, which are best enjoyed in one of the two tasting menus.
A morning flight will whisk you to Santa Cruz Island for a 4-night stay at the luxury Galapagos Safari Camp. Perched on a hill at the edge of the Galapagos National Park this family-run property that comprises of 9 tents, offers a secluded setting in a natural paradise withviews of the sweeping coastline and neighboring islands including Isabela and Baltra.
Upon arrival an English-speaking naturalist and guide at Baltra airport will greet you. Cross the narrow Itabaca Channel to Santa Cruz Island, before heading up to a farm in the highlands for a delicious lunch. Once well fed, explore the areas of lush vegetation, microclimates, pit craters and lava tunnels and become acquainted with the endemic Scalesia and Guayabillo forests. At the Tortoise Reserve get to know some of the emblematic giant tortoises in their natural habitat and keep your eyes peeled for the diverse highland bird life. Wind down the afternoon at the Galapagos Safari Camp with sunset cocktails and dinner.
The Main Lodge:
Home to a spacious and contemporary open-plan lounge and an honesty bar featuring natural furnishings and earthy tones, the warm wood and cool rock reflect the beauty of the island’s rugged landscape. The infinity pool is ideal for a refreshing swim on hot days, or for simply bathing in the tranquility of the setting. The farm is abundant with birdlife, including finches, warblers, mockingbirds, Galapagos doves, egrets and owls. If you are lucky you will see giant tortoises pottering among the tents. All meals are served in the dining room and offer a variety of excellent local and international dishes, which are cooked using native ingredients.
After an early wake up call, hop on a boat to one of the neighboring islands: North Seymour, Bartolome, Santa Fe or South Plaza. Each island has its own unique natural habitat, which our knowledgeable guide will explain to you, as well as the evolutionary phenomena of the destination. The Galapagos Marine Reserve is the second largest marine reserve in the world, and provides first class snorkeling right off the boat
Head off on a boat excursion to another neighboring island and enjoy yet another day of adventure and natural wonders.
In the morning you will be chauffeured to the eastern part of the island. At 490 meters above sea level, Cerro Mesa offers spectacular views and boasts the largest crater on the Santa Cruz Island. It is home to a number of endemic plants, as well as seven subspecies of finch and the vermilion flycatcher. After lunch visit Garrapatero Beach, where the mangroves, black lava, white sand, turquoise water, rich bird life and flamingo lagoon make for a memorable afternoon. Kayaking and mountain biking are optional activities.
On your last day meander through the Galapagos Safari Camp at leisure and soak up the sunrise from our viewpoint before your airport transfer to Guayaquil airport.
Welcome to Lima, the City of the Kings! Upon arrival in Lima you will be escorted you to your hotel.
On our sightseeing tour, explore the modern district of Lima and its historic center (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988). As you stroll around the main plaza and Plaza San Martin, our guide will explain the city’s impressive and diverse architectural heritage to you. Continue on to the Santo Domingo Monastery that boast sthe oldest finely carved choir stalls in Lima. It was at this spot that the first University in South America, was founded in 1551 – San Marcos. From here you will head to ‘Casa Aliaga’, the oldest colonial house in Latin America. Owned by the Aliaga family and their descendants since Francisco Pizarro this ancient temple was granted to one of his followers Jerónimo de Aliaga in 1535. It features a series of salons that represent life in Lima in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.
Enjoy an afternoon of leisure. We recommend exploring the art galleries in the bohemian district of Barranco.
At night prepare yourself for a culinary experience! Lima 27 serves Peruvian fusion cuisine at its best,as the restaurant’s talented chef reinterprets traditional Peruvian recipes. The restaurant is housed in a mansion of Lima’s Republican era, where the fusion concept and creative flair meets stylish elegance in funky chic décor. You will enjoy an 8-course tasting menu made with seasonal produce (transfers included – unescorted).
After your morning flight to Cusco, you will head off on your tour. Start with a gentle stroll around the cathedral and admire its magnificently carved woodwork, ornate altar and many hundreds of canvases from the 17th-century Cusco Painting School. Continue exploring the cultural wealth of Cusco at the Temple of the Sun, where you will witness the incredible Inca masonry.
Leave the city in your private transport and be driven up to Tambomachay (the resting place of the Inca). Just a 10-minute walk from this archaeological site you will discoverPukaPukara (the red fortress). From here a gentle path leads you to Kenko, the temple dedicated to Mother Earth before you reach Sacsayhuaman – a hilltop fortress that overlooks the city of Cusco. Finally, walk through the narrow cobblestone streets of San Blas to get back to Cusco. (Hike duration: 2 hours. The excursion takes approx. 4 hours)

In the morning, head to the charming community of Chinchero and join a local weaving family in their courtyard for an overview of the Andean weaving process. Chinchero is renowned for the production of textiles made on back strap looms. Watch carefully as the wool is carded, spun, and then dyed. Learn about the different techniques used to create belts, ponchos and shawls.
Later, continue to the old terraced salt mines that cover the entire hillside in Maras. The dominant color is an intense white that glistens like snow on a sunny day – an impressive sight for any visitor. Salt was originally extracted from these mines in Inca times by hand, with the same method been used today.
You will then head to Moray, where the circular terraces hidden among the hills are similar to a Greek amphitheater. Surrounded by an impressive backdrop of snow-covered mountains, Moray was used as an open-air agricultural lab for adapting crops to different environmental conditions.
Your morning transfer will take you to Ollanta train station ready to board the train to Machu Picchu. The train ride takes you through the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas up to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival a small coach takes you up the steep windy roads to the entrance of the citadel. For centuries Machu Picchu remained undiscovered by the Spaniards and wasun earthed in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram
Bingham. During a guided tour you will experience the surreal beauty of the location and the genius that went into its construction, making this Inca site one of the seven new wonders of the world.
In the afternoon return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollanta,whereyou will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco.
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport in good time for your flight to Lima.

| Getting to Galapagos Safari Camp
Fly to Baltra where a member of Safari Galapagos Camp will meet you and escort you across Itabaca Channel to Santa Cruz Island. From there, it is a 40-min drive to Galapagos Safari camp.
